Chief Process Engineer/Process Manager
London Central
Contract: Up to £100 hr

Responsible for activities within the Process Engineering discipline of the OG&C global business unit. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, including the development of novel concepts and approaches when required. Responsible for acting independently on technical matters.

Essential Job Duties:
1. Provides functional oversight of the Process group for the OG&C business unit both on and off project.

2. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of technical standards within the discipline. Manages engineering activities for the Process Engineering discipline within the London office establishing and maintaining the technical standards and constantly liaising with clients and picking up new business.

3. Maintains continuous contact with work in progress by reviewing or approving, design basis, key drawings or design concepts developed by the Process group on project.

4. Audits Process activities on project, ensuring compliance with a project’s Execution Plan, Project Procedures Manual, and with Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs). Reviews and approves project Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs).

5. Provides technical/expert support to project teams and ensures technical quality.

6. Establishes the discipline training needs, obtains budgeting approval and directs the development of personnel training programs.

7. Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports and manages, reviews, and approves performance reviews prepared by supervisors. Holds career development discussions.

8. Inputs to and owns the engineering elements of a project capital estimate (proposals and execution) quantities and budgets for the Process discipline.

9. Reviews project staffing requirements and assigns qualified technical personnel from within the discipline.

10. Directs the development of and approves design guides, standard specifications, work processes, and design procedures in for the Process Discipline

11. Monitors staff planning and personnel administration.

12. Reviews unusual or complex design problems, provides guidance for their solution either personally, by subordinate staff or by outside consultants.

- Preparation of PFDs and heat and mass balances
- Sizing and specification of major process equipment
- Relief system design, including PSV sizing, flare hydraulics and radiation analysis
