Salary / rate: £27000 - £29000 per annum + pension
Start date: ASAP

Key Result Areas

Operational

Liaise with LCC officers to identify works, arrange ECI meetings and agree Target Costs for the works.
General site supervision, including completion of records as required
Ensure supply chain have sufficient labour, plant and materials to complete the works in accordance with the programme
Ensure TMA compliance.
Corresponding with Client/Consultant/The Public and other colleagues to monitor progress and inform of problems

WMS Process

Ensure familiarity and effective use of the Works Management System within the depot team.
Receive task orders and associated documents
Plan and resource job effectively with the supply chain
Ensure completed records received from sites and review accuracy. Take action if required to improve quality of returns.
Ensure returned information is accurately recorded in WMS
Liaise with commercial staff to ensure financial recovery


Performance Management

Manage performance improvement on the contract via the daily review process.
Attend Daily Action Review Meetings (DARM) and Weekly Action Review Meetings (WARM) as required.
Maximise utilisation of labour, plant & resources.
Assist with estimates as required
Ensure that costs are controlled and that income is maximised.
Be proactive in recording Non-conformances. Take action as required to reduce NCR’s.
Recognise and contribute to the processes that form the Business Management System

Health & Safety

All Health and Safety issues on site, completion of paperwork for records.
To ensure all work comply with relevant environmental legislation and that recycling takes place whenever possible.

People Management

Foster good employee relations, ensuring that team members are properly trained and developed to make their best contribution.
Ensure effective people management practices are carried out across the area in line with Company procedure (team brief, tool box talks, appraisals, disciplinary, grievance, managing performance etc).

Other

Participate in Emergency and Winter Standby
Any other suitable duty requested of you


Key Performance Indicators


Achievement of Company and Contract KPI’s and year-on-year improvement.
Frequency of WMS process is daily.
Daily & Weekly as required
Conduct annual appraisals and provide consistent feedback to the team to support staff development


Skills and Experience



ESSENTIAL



To have a certificate in Site Safety Management (attended 5 day course)
To hold relevant CSCS card
5 years supervisory experience in highway surfacing
Commercial awareness
Must be able to Drive
Have reasonable written and numerical skills
IT Skills


DESIRABLE

Experience in Highways Maintenance at a supervisory level
Preferably have NRSWA card
To have worked within a Target Cost environment

To be assertive, diplomatic and patient
Self motivating and a good motivator of the labour force
