Sales Executive / Sales Consultant

Sales Executive / Sales Consultant needed for a leading insurance organisation based in Brighton who are looking to employ an experienced Sales Specialist/Account Manager to promote and sell the client's individual protection product range both in person and over the phone, while delivering first class customer service. Imperative to the role is the maintenance of key relationships with panel advisors and engaging these with the client's protection product.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Sales Executive / Sales Consultant will include:

  • Work with an agreed panel of advisers to ensure accounts are fully developed and managed to the highest possible degree
  • Take on a consultative approach while ensuring knowledge is understood, along with the background and target client base of each adviser so you can support their intended sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of current market issues and economic conditions targets that affect them
  • Build and maintain business plans with all advisers to maximise development opportunities, agreeing new objectives on a regular basis
  • Apply market knowledge to identify and focus activity on contacts which deliver high volume/value to the client
  • Influence distributor decision-making through demonstrating a full working knowledge of the client's products, services and technology, and a high-level knowledge of the market and competitor products
  • Actively promote the client's products by demonstrating benefit to the Intermediary's customers
  • Document sales activity in line with agreed business plan. Use the clinet's customer relationship management system to systematically capture, maintain and use Intermediary information to inform future sales activity
  • Support the Distribution Manager in coaching the team each month. The new BDC will coach at least one member of the team each month and own their coaching development for that month
  • Achieve all set talk time, proactive call and webinar targets to ensure the potential of the panel is fulfilled
  • Ensure that the service/product sold is appropriate to the Intermediary's business/customer opportunity
  • Achieve best practice in compliance and sales skills against agreed benchmarks

What you need to be the successful Sales Executive / Sales Consultant:

In order to be the successful Sales Executive / Sales Consultant and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

  • Must have a strong and proven knowledge of protection products and their varied uses in the market. Must be able to prove a detailed technical knowledge of the client's protection product range and the ways in which it is applied alongside sales opportunities for customers
  • Excellent phone communication skills, with a professional and courteous manner to help develop strong working relations with colleagues and clients
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • High levels of experience in presenting to both small and large audiences on a face to face basis
  • A proven team player
  • Ability to manage your own time effectively
  • Friendly and approachable manner
  • Open minded when entering into conversations
  • Proactively able to seek out feedback
  • Knowledge of the market and competitors
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
