AIT ENGINEER
My client is looking for an AIT Engineer to join the Engineering team. The multi-disciplinary Engineering team relies on aerospace engineers, mechanical engineers, thermal engineers, robotics engineers, electronic engineers, and software engineers to employ effective solutions to the unique challenges of space robotics. As an Assembly, Integration and Test engineer with my client, you will be directly responsible for developing test plans, design and operating testing equipment (e.g. thermal vacuum chamber, vibration table). AIT Engineers within the company are expected to have an understanding of every robotic arm subsystem. Relying on your proficiency with simulation tools, you will provide computational and analytical tests ahead of laboratory test campaigns. You have demonstrated experience in experimental design, and thoroughly understand how to design tests that produce accurate and repeatable results. The team will rely on your expertise in qualifying commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components for the space environment. You thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, and will do what it takes in the office, in the machine shop, and in the laboratory to develop the next generation of space robots.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead assembly, integration and tests of robotic arm system, subsystem, and units
Lead preparation of test plans, test procedures, and validation of design by tests
Execute tests according to the plan and tests on demands
Support and participate in the design of the robotic arm.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, test engineering, materials engineering, or equivalent area of focus
5+ years relevant professional experience (3+ years with Master's degree or Ph. D. in relevant engineering or technical field)
3+ years in a design, testing, or manufacturing engineering role (student project teams, engineering competitions, graduate work, or internship experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
Demonstrated abilities to use testing tools (e.g. LabView, Matlab)
Fluency in English
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Master's degree or Ph. D. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, test engineering, materials engineering, or equivalent area of focus
Experience in developing, integrating, or testing flight hardware that has gone to space is an asset
Experience in Hardware-in-Loop tests
Experience in structural and environmental tests for space or other extreme environments
Demonstrated experience in industrial qualification of components
Deep understanding in design of experiments philosophy
Experience with software simulation tools (CFD, ANSYS, FEA, thermal, Matlab) to perform computational analysis and testing ahead of lab-based test campaigns
Experience in data processing and statistical analysis
Experience building DAQ systems
Experience operating thermal vacuum chambers, vibration tables, and EMI equipment
