Assitant Quantity Surveyor

£35,000 to £45,000 + package
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading main contractor delivering a £20m healthcare project in the centre of Leicester. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be joining the site based team and given the opportunity to manage their own subcontract packages whilst supporting the Senior QS with the overall running of the project. This will provide a fantastic platform to shadow an experienced member of the team and should help you quickly take your career to the next level.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be working on a number of duties including:
- Preparing draft sub-contracts
- Monitoring sub-contractor performance and consulting with the Senior QS
- Participate in the pricing of variations, design cost control and value engineering
- Participate in the recording of delays and preparations for the request of extensions of time
- Assist with the settle of main contract final accounts
- Support the senior staff with contract performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Assist with the supervision of trainee and graduate QS staff
Assistant Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have at least 18 months experience working on the JCT D&B contract on a UK based construction project. You'll need excellent communication skills, a keen interest in developing your skillset as a Quantity Surveyor and live within a commutable distance of Leicester.
