The company was established in 2010 to provide signalling and multi-disciplinary engineering, technical and project delivery support and consultancy services to clients in the UK and internationally.
They have worked on a range of major high-profile rail industry projects and programmes in a variety of roles.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join our organisation. The role will play a pivotal role in our fast moving, growing company. Working within a small team you will be a key part of our Procurement department and assist with all of the buying activities

Key Responsibilities for the Buyer

* Procure all goods and services relating to Projects and Overhead expenditure
* Liaise with all internal customers
* Ensure PO's are released in an accurate & timely manner
* Ensure that suppliers are consistently providing high quality goods and services
* Develop & improve relationships within the supply chain
* Negotiate prices across all suppliers
* Introduce new suppliers and monitor existing ones
* Attend project meetings as & when required
* With HSQE, manage the new supplier on boarding process
* Develop and introduce Framework Agreements with key suppliers & partners
* Work with tendering on all tenders / opportunities for the business
* Understand Commercial contract forms
* Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

Essential for the Buyer

* A driven individual who can deliver savings for the business
* Prior experience of a buyer role in a similar organisation
* Minimum 5 year's experience within a procurement team
* Good interpersonal skills and an eye for detail
* Good negotiation skills
* Rail industry background
* Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
* Travel within the UK and abroad
* Skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel. Outlook etc

Desirable for the Buyer

* Use of Pegasus IT system
* Knowledge of PADS & RISQS
* Knowledge of the supply chain with the rail industry
* Full driving licence
* Knowledge and an understanding of budgetary controls
* Relevant degree or CIPS qualified or working towards the qualification
