Summary for the CAD Technician:

Our client is a fantastic Client to work for within the Civil Engineering and Mutlit Utility sector.
Based in Dartford and Greater London working in the Energy department for one of the largest privately owned construction firms in the UK this is a brilliant opportunity for someone with proven experience preferably in the Electricity Power Distribution industry.

Main Purposes for the CAD Technician:

  • The post holder will be responsible to the Design and Planning Manager, or immediate Line Manager.
  • The post holder will be responsible for a number of supporting staff.

To manage and monitor the design and planning team in order to carry out:

  • Surveying Duties
  • Obtains required service drawings and all other relevant information on planned routes
  • Prepare survey plans and spread sheets to assist during design stage
  • Assist surveying resources in collation of information on site
  • Assist in analysing of survey data and edit such in required format


  • Produce as-constructed plans to client specification (trial hole records and/or as-laids)
  • Carry out relevant site visits to establish current information enabling timely submission of as-constructed plans
  • Input data to produce necessary traffic management plans and plot out accordingly
  • Produce traffic management drawings where required

Site Data Records

  • Assist in monitoring and recording of daily productivity information
  • Liaise with the Surveying Team to record required data
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Supervisors to plan and record survey data

Other Duties

  • The successful candidate will possess a high level of accuracy in producing industry standard drawings and be a good team player. The role is primarily to assist during design stage and updated plans during the construction stage.
  • Set a good example to all employees.
  • Lead and manage all Health & Safety issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all Clancy controlled documents including Clancy procedures.
  • Be pro-active in developing new systems to meet changing departmental needs.
  • Developing good working relationships and close liaison with clients.
  • Maintaining a high standard of quality work.
  • Additional integral responsibilities include report writing, record maintenance, and satisfactory communication at all levels, maintenance of Company image, employee welfare and team building.
