Clinical Research Monitor needed for an organisation based in Leeds who are looking to bring in an experienced Clinical Research Monitor with a keen interest in clinical research operations to assist in the provision of support and implementation of the clinical research operations programme for all therapeutic areas for the client.

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Clinical Research Monitor will include:
* Provision of support to EMEA Monitoring Resource Manager and serve as the lead monitor within the EMEA region
* Provide feedback on current and best monitoring practices, procedural and regulatory compliance and system adoption
* Perform monitor observation visits throughout the EMEA region and provide feedback to EMEA Monitoring Resource Manager
* Support the Clinical Trial Leader for agreed projects in the EMEA Clinical Research programme for the defined therapeutic area by monitoring and reporting on studies progress as per the Corporate and Statutory requirements and timescales
* Maintain maximum ethical, clinical and scientific standards while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all trial participants and robust scientific practice
* Be up to date with developments in clinical research and the clinical literature in therapeutic areas of responsibility
* Assist in the preparation of consent documentation when necessary for scientific evaluation of new or existing products in accordance with all ethical and regulatory requirements for Medical Devices as per the European and International Medical Devices Regulations
* Monitor specified clinical studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice requirements and provide feedback to necessary company personnel on the progress of said trials
* Administer the inventory of Investigational Products and control the issue of investigational products to approved sites when required
* Participate in project teams and build relationships with investors, regulators and appropriate company personnel as necessitated regarding clinical research issues while working as directed by the Clinical Trial Leader and Monitoring Team
* Maintain compliance with company SOPs
* Maintain a high degree of housekeeping and filing accuracy
* Occasional presentations on clinical study progress
* Make regular visits to hospitals throughout the UK and potentially Europe

What you need to be the successful Clinical Research Monitor:
In order to be the successful Clinical Research Monitor and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:
* 1st Degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field to Biomedical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 5+ years' experience of clinical trials monitoring in a medical company, preferably with medical devices
* Knowledge of clinical study design and management. Relevant experience in implementation of clinical research studies. Working knowledge of international regulatory requirements applicable to clinical research. Awareness of research ethics. Above average oral, written and communication skills.
* Computer literate
* Able to work independently toward resolving problems and making decisions
* Have a highly professional work ethic and be able to work in a confidential, efficient and approachable manner
* Be confident and capable of building and maintaining a professional network of internal and external contacts
Must be eligible for Security Clearance
