CNC Turner/Fitter

CNC Turner/Fitter needed for a world leading global defence, secruity and aerospace organisations based in Chemlsford who are looking to employ an experienced CNC Turner/Fitter.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the CNC Turner/Fitter will include:
Programming, setting and running CNC and manual lathes, as well as milling machines

Manufacturing small batch/ prototype components ranging from highly accurate aerospace components through to lab use demonstrator items within time and budget

Fitting tasks, mainly aligned to supporting research engineers with innovative solutions to design and manufacturing problems

Use of basic Rapid Prototyping (RP)/ Additive Manufacture (AM) equipment to assist with the above and also to enable models and demonstrators to be produced quickly and efficiently

Ensuring that all manufacturing activities are undertaken in line with Applied Intelligence Labs process and SHE requirements

As a CNC Turner/ Fitter you will be instrumental in assisting with the realisation of innovative designs, as products move from design through to demonstrators and onto production.

What you need to be the successful CNC Turner/Fitter:

In order to be the successful CNC Turner/Fitter and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, machining or tool-making (or equivalent qualification)

Experience of CNC and manual turning, with additional technical competency in milling

Be able to programme, set and operate different machine tools

Fitting and model making experience

Must be eligible for Security Clearance

You will be a confident communicator, who is able to effectively liaise with a range of stakeholders. You will also be able to demonstrate innovation and problem-solving skills.
