Commercial Contracts Analyst

Location: Dorking, Surrey Salary: £40000 - £45000 per annum

Working for a leading systems and engineering technology company based in Dorking (Surrey). As Commercial Contracts Advisor you will be working within their in-house legal team and handling a variety of legal and commercial issues including:- reviewing & negotiating commercial contracts,
advising on commercial & contractual issues including risk mitigation and ensuring compliance with current legislation and standards.

About you

  • Have a good working knowledge of contact law
  • Experience of working on Commercial Contracts
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised
  • Able to prioritise a number of key deadlines
  • Manage well under pressure
  • Have a degree in Law and ideally hold the LPC qualification

About the role

  • Administering NDAs and carrying out reviews with internal training and support
  • Carrying out due diligence checks for new suppliers based on internal training and support and maintaining a database of results
  • Ensuring database of final contracts are kept up to date which will involve liaising across the business spectrum
  • Checking and maintaining the list of government clauses (defcons)
  • Keep abreast with company insurance and liaise with our insurance brokers where necessary
  • Reviewing proposed contracts to assess whether risks to the business are mitigated and key business objectives are catered for, whilst weighing up wider commercial considerations
  • Draft new contractual terms when these are required, including supply agreements, framework agreements, NDAs, letters of intent, letters of variation and related documents
  • Draft contract terms with sub-contractors appropriate to the size and complexity of the head contract
  • Negotiating where appropriate the terms with customers and sub-contractors where appropriate to do so
  • Providing an advisory service to the business on agreed contract terms and general legal issues, their meaning and the negotiation of new contracts
