As the Consultant Engineer - Mechanical you will be responsible for leveraging expert-level engineering knowledge and relationships to deliver consulting services with significant impact on software revenue, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems

Consultant Engineer - Mechanical Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the sales team and customers providing a consulting service on the utilization of simulation in product development
  • Secure the consulting business; this will involve working with Sales to develop sales strategies, engaging with customers to understand their existing product development process, developing a vision for enhancing their existing process with my client's products and services, articulating that vision to the customer, and developing a plan for execution
  • Work closely with the team to ensure timely development of effective Statements of Work and Services Proposals; monitor the execution and delivery of consulting projects to ensure customer satisfaction and develop opportunities for follow-up projects that advance the vision for improving the customer product development process
  • Generate marketing collateral from projects such as success stories, testimonials and presentation material
  • Collaborate with Product Development to improve software products and the customers' experience using these products

Consultant Engineer - Mechanical Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related engineering or other technical disciplines
  • Demonstrated skills in structural mechanics simulation including topics such as rotor dynamics, fatigue, fluid structure interaction, composites, topology optimisation, rigid body dynamics, vibration and complex material modelling
  • Demonstrated scripting skills (Python, JavaScript, HTML5, c#)
  • Considerable experience in use of relevant CAD software or other commercial software
  • Thorough understanding of the Product Development process
