About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with expertise in aerospace engineering and in-depth knowledge of US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS). As a Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring effective management of contractual agreements, negotiation of terms and conditions, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Your expertise in FARS and DFARS will be instrumental in safeguarding the company's interests while fostering strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of contractual agreements, including negotiation, drafting, and implementation of terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with FARS and DFARS regulations, export control regulations, and contract law.
  • Provide oversight on bid management and approval processes, ensuring adherence to internal procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Technical, Finance, and Supply Chain, to support project lifecycles and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead contract negotiations for non-strategic bids and subcontracts, and support strategic bid and contract negotiations.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage bank issued bonds and guarantees to mitigate risk and ensure timely returns.
  • Develop and maintain strategic and non-strategic commercial arrangements for project delivery.
  • Maintain the Contracts Register and deliver commercial analysis, reports, and briefs for senior-level discussions.
  • Support government contracting price investigations and provide management-level reports on outcomes and action plans.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience as a Contracts Manager in the aerospace engineering industry, with expertise in FARS and DFARS regulations.
  • Proven track record in effectively managing contractual agreements and negotiations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS).
  • Familiarity with US TINA (Truth in Negotiations Act) is highly desirable.
  • Appreciation of UK and US export control regulations and contract law.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or a related field is essential.
  • Post-graduation certifications in contract management (e.g., NCMA CPCM) are advantageous.
  • Ability to attain security clearance as required by the role.
