Contracts Officer needed for a leading organisation based in Bristol who are looking to employ an experienced Contracts Officer with a aim to provide a comprehensive level of support in day to day operations of current programmes and bids within the clients commercial operations and maximise profitability within acceptable risk levels.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Contracts Officer will include:

  • Prepare commercial quotations and orchestrate proposals incorporating pricing to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Administer Contracts and Agreements effectively and efficiently to ensure maximum profitability while minimising the exposure to risk, ensuring the timely achievement of all project objectives
  • Draft and negotiate any contracts and agreements with customers and suppliers, ensuring these include agreeable terms, prices and payment plans in order to meet the businesses objectives
  • Prepare and administer any required contract changes while positively contribute to resulting negotiations
  • Assess and respond to any requests for quotations, ensuring risk mitigation and value for money is achieved while continuing to meet the customer's needs
  • Ensuring contract order cover is received in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the project team to ensure information is released in a timely and effective manner to the customers
  • Maintain key project performance indicators and contribute to the internal reporting requirement process
  • Coordinate commercial communication across both internal and external customers
  • Maintain and support in the development and administration of commercial processes and procedures within the business
  • Provide support and assistance across various levels within the commercial function as required

What you need to be the successful Contracts Officer:

In order to be the successful Contracts Officer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a commercial role
  • Ability to evaluate commercial risks
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Organise time efficiently to achieve objectives
  • Seek to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Contribute as an effective team member
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High standard of IT literacy including MS Office particularly Excel
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role
