Brief

Control Room Operator needed to join a market-leader in Highways Maintenance. As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and providing real-time information on traffic conditions across Hertfordshire. You will coordinate and liaise with Priority Response Officers to ensure efficient management of the network by responding quickly to traffic disruptions.

It's desirable for the successful candidate to possess strong technical administration skills and be confident dealing with queries over the phone.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Control Room Operator will include:

• Monitoring and providing real-time information on traffic conditions.
• Liaise with Emergency Services and Highways England in response to disruptions.
• Operation of Urban Traffic Management Systems in accordance with protocols and procedures.
• Logging, assessing and prioritizing customer queries.
• Coordinate maintenance resources and fault management processes.
• Ensure works are completed on-time, to budget and quality.
• Preparation and submission of Road Space Booking Permits.
• Ensure financial processes are complied with.

What experience you need to be the successful Control Room Operator:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including; Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Able to communicate at all levels and be confident on the telephone.
• Experience working within a Control Room environment is desirable.
