What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Customs Compliance Coordinator will include:

The position requires the development of the Customs Compliance function. The role demands exceptional communication and collaboration skills, and a strong import/export trade expertise. The Customs Specialist will support the facility in managing Import/Exports with regards to Customs Compliance, interacting with various functional areas and the company's Corporate International Trade Compliance office.

Manages and maintains uniform standard operating procedures pertaining to Customs Compliance through Imports and Exports. Including Post Entry Review, HTS Classification, Country of Origin, Valuation & Preference

Provides advice and guidance to employees within the organisation with regards to Trade Compliance associated to international transactions

Responsible for providing interpretations and advice with UK and overseas customs regulations, as well as providing regular communications regarding changes in these regulations

Identifying potential areas of import/export customs compliance vulnerability and risk within the organisation. Evaluate, investigate and mitigate potential risks along with the CITC office

Ensure standard product classifications are accurate and properly classified

Act as a point of contact for any internal or external audits related to export/import Customs compliance

Identifies all training needs within the organisation with regards to export/import Customs compliance

Periodic Self Assessments, implementing corrective actions as required. Including HS Classification, Country of Origin, Valuation, Entry Samples and Broker review

What you need to be the successful Customs Compliance Coordinator:

In order to be the successful Customs Compliance Coordinator and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

Strong knowledge / experience of Customs regulations for import and export compliance, policies, documentation and processes
Detailed knowledge of HTS and HMRC Customs Procedure codes
Good understanding of Free Trade Agreements and duty relief procedures
Excellent analytical and organisational skills
Strong computer skills, ERP skills a plus
Must be eligible for Security Clearance
