Brief
Design Manager needed for a British multinational infrastructure group based in Southampton who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Design Manager that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of delivering design services and successfully implementing design strategies as well as having a proven record in successful delivery of Civil biased (highways, bridges) or similar works.
The successful candidate would be a confident individual, with good leadership skills. Have a professional membership with appropriate institute e.g. ICE, CIHT and have a keen interest in becoming a Design Manager. If you have good working knowledge of BIM that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Role purpose
As a Design Manager you will successfully oversee the organisations external design framework delivery ensuring that works are delivered on budget and to programme, adopting technology and innovative techniques. As part of the role, you are expected to support the project teams in the achievement in BIM Level 2
What you'll be doing
On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Consider the application of Lean construction techniques
- Proactively manage risk
- Lead the development and management team of the design deliverables programme
What experience you need to be the successful Design Manager:
To join us in this role, you must demonstrate/obtain the following:
- Experience in delivering design services and successfully implementing design strategies
- Proven record in successful delivery of Civil biased (highways, bridges) or similar works
- Confident individual, with good leadership skills
- Good working knowledge of BIM
- Valid CSCS card
- Professional membership with appropriate institute e.g. ICE, CIHT
- Relevant experience dealing with Network Rail and Highway England approval process
