Position: Development Engineer

Location: Staffordshire, UK

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Development Engineer to join our dynamic team in Staffordshire. As a key member of the Development Capability team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and testing of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a Development Engineer looking to broaden their engineering knowledge and contribute to cutting-edge projects.

Development Engineer Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop system test suits.
• Conduct development and qualification testing.
• Schematic and design capture.
• Provide expertise in component selection, advice, and review.
• Undertake engineering tasks in support of projects and programs.
• Document work and activities in compliance with local operating procedures.
• Participate in internal and external meetings as required.
• Support on-site commissioning or trials activities, including overseas travel.

Development Engineer Skills & Knowledge:

• Live testing experience of low voltage electronic or electrical equipment (<1000V).
• Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASWA) and associated policies.
• Desirable skills in the design of digital and analogue electronic circuits.
• Knowledge of software methodologies and some programming experience.
• Motivated to actively pursue learning and development opportunities.
• Flexible attitude with a hands-on approach.
• Organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate potential solutions.
• PC literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

• HNC/HND/BTEC or higher in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• A Level Grades A-C or equivalent.
• GCSE Grades A-C/9-4 in Math's & English or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

• Driving license.
• Willingness to travel to alternative locations in the UK and abroad for occasional off-site activities.
• Ability to work overtime and unsociable hours as and when required.
