The electrical design engineer is responsible for the development and delivery of electrical designs to facilitate the manufacture of complex automated equipment. The role includes design, materials sourcing, and procurement, offering guidance to build teams and assisting in debug & test activities where required.

Duties:
- Design electrical systems for automated machinery/equipment.
- Developing electrical designs for complex automation projects
- Draw & detail electrical schematics for build & systems using EPLAN.
- Prepare Electrical Plant layout drawing & single line drawings for tendering purposes.
- Prepare detailed electrical schematics for Control Panels as well as Mechanical layout drawings.
- Sourcing of electrical components for designs
- Build electrical panels and wire components for automated machinery projects.
- Creating test plans and documentation packs for developed electrical designs
- Assisting in electrical debug of systems
- Meeting project delivery deadlines
- Machine fault-finding and troubleshooting.
- Assemble document packages and develop drawing sets to be reviewed by Electrical Engineer and Automation Engineer for various Control systems.
- Interact with Engineering and Automation personnel and other staff to resolve identified issues.
- PLC and Automation experience would be beneficial.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and driven to deliver inside normally expected timelines. The candidate must be able to work closely and communicate with project team and ensure the relevant wiring standards are being adhered to. You must also have a clear understanding of CE and safety requirements.

Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 3 years industry experience involving electrical design, industrial wiring and debugging of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams/schematics.
- Working knowledge of the field device signal wiring practices and panel design.
- Experience with troubleshooting and start-up of control systems.
- Strong organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, while ensuring projects are completed to a high standard and on schedule.
- Good communication skills combined with an imaginative and creative approach to problem solving.
- Familiarity with m/c elements such as; electrical controls, AC/DC motors, servo motors, invertors, general panel equipment, drives and pneumatics.
- 3yrs plus experience with solid works electrical or similar electrical design software packages, Eplan, AutoCAD, and Microsoft office.
- Basic knowledge & understanding of PLC programming and controls methodologies.
