Brief

Electrical Engineer's needed for a well-known Engineering consultancy organisation based in Bristol who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Electrical Engineer's that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of LV and HV electrical engineering experience.

The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering and have a keen interest in working a range of Electrical projects. If you have technical leadership on projects that would be a plus!

The engineer can follow projects through from bid to completion and are encouraged to develop their business development skills whilst supporting clients.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Electrical Engineer will include:

• Delivery of innovation projects in the transmission and distribution sector, taking new systems and technologies from concept through to delivery.
• High voltage AC and DC electrical power and distribution system design, including power system / grid connection studies.
• Managing the production, verification and approval of: electrical reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
• Specialist equipment support, for example: generators, transformers, switchgear, cables.
• Managing a project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.
• Client facing to develop requirements and negotiating contracts / agreements, and progress reporting and risk management.
• Mentoring and development of electrical engineers.

What experience you need to be the successful Electrical Engineer:

Essential:

The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' HV electrical engineering experience in a relevant industry
• MSc in Electrical Engineering (Or equivalent experience)
• CEng
• Technical leadership on projects
• Have up to date knowledge and experience in the electrical discipline in particular relation to the following:
  • Electrical Design (FEED and Design Specification)
  • Verification of design/substantiation deliverables
  • Transmission and Distribution
  • Industrial and Energy
  • Private Wire Networks / Micro Grids
• Experience with working to the requirements of ISO 9001.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• DNO / National Grid
• Private Wire Networks / Micro Grids
• Marine Power System Design
• HVDC
• Power Electronics
• Earthing Schemes

• Power Systems Asset Management ISO 55001 Certified
• Power System Modelling (Digsilent, ETAP, Amtech, SimPowerSystems)
• Interfacing with Regulators (ONR, Ofgem, ORR, etc)
