An experienced Electronic System Designer is required to play a key role in the development, verification and delivery of cutting edge digital and RF Electronic Solutions, as well as other products in the company Portfolio.

You will be responsible for leading teams of Design Engineers through the full engineering lifecycle to customer satisfaction. You will lead supplier, customer and internal stakeholder meetings to ensure time/cost/quality deliverables, and effectively communicate with teams, PMs and business leads to ensure smooth delivery, minimise risks/uncertainty and provide progress updates.

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as an Electronic System Designer?

• Deliver compliant and safe technical solutions in accordance with customer and business requirements, to time, cost and quality.
• Lead engineering project teams in the definition and execution of effective design, development and verification plans of work from bid stage through to delivery.
• Ensure requirements are effectively managed on projects (through derivation, flow down to sub-teams and sub-contractors, and the verification thereof).
• Lead and support independent engineering reviews and generation of design certification.
• Prepare design documentation and engineering specifications to agreed standards
• Promote continuous process improvement.
• Research latest technologies to help achieve key system performance goals.
• Provide mentorship and support to less experienced colleagues.
• Support business development and sales activities.
• Technically oversee and evaluate subcontracted elements of work.

What are we looking for in our next Electronic System Designer?

• Honours degree or equivalent in electronic engineering or related discipline.
• Have experience in the design, development and verification of electronic systems.
• Have the ability to lead technical teams of engineers.
• Have a clear understanding of the typical qualification, verification and acceptance approaches. Proven experience in requirements management.
• Have the ability to work at all technical levels from system to component level design, to equipment build, test and fault identification.
• Have the ability to effectively communicate with people at all appropriate levels within the organisation and externally with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Have knowledge of electronic industry standards and best-practice for hardware design.
• Have experience with ECAD tools for electronic circuit design and PCB manufacture.
