Electronics Engineer
Portsmouth/Cowes/ Chelmsford - Hybrid Working
£35,000 - £55,000
Electronics Engineer needed for a leading defence and security organisation with offices in Portsmouth area. You will join team that is responsible for detailed electronic circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and PCB design.
This is an exciting opportunity to join teams in various locations and at various stages of project life cycle.
Multiple Positions at different level are available.
What the role of the Electronics Engineer entails:
Some of the main duties of the Electronics Engineer will include:
- Carrying out detailed electronic circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and preparing guidance for PCB design teams
- Specification of bespoke procured hardware
- Completing design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques including support to EMC test houses and customer installations
- Interfacing with related disciplines including EMC, systems engineering, mechanical/thermal engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, Safety, Product Data Management, and manufacturing areas
- Working with embedded software and PLD engineers
- Supporting system integration activities
What experience you need to be the successful Electronics Engineer:
- A degree or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a strongly related subject
- Experience of generating component level designs for introduction into volume production
- Experience in board-level digital design including processor interfacing, memory devices, PLD interfacing, UARTs, SPI, I2C, Ethernet and ADC/DAC devices and techniques
- Experience in board-level analogue design.
- Experience of design proving, integration, and defect resolution
