Engineering Manager - Quality Assurance
Your role
Developing and growing a high-performing QA team
Implementing an automation-first vison to the QA process and making use of the latest automation
tools and frameworks to build pipelines which support continuous testing.
Innovative and results-oriented QA Management with a constant strive to drive efficiency without
compromising on quality.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- QA Management
- Collaborate closely with Development and other delivery functions to prioritize and support the delivery of planned work with high levels of software quality.
- Provide QA leadership implementing, leading and coaching continuous improvement qualityassurance across the department.
- Work with the delivery teams to ensure that all software development delivers to a high-quality
- level and will include automated testing, clearly defined test plans/acceptance criteria, quality processes and performance testing.
- Oversee defect monitoring & analysis - ensuring that all reported defects are recorded, tracked and resolved.
- Define & monitor the quality KPIs and provide management information & reporting.
- Drive corrective & preventative action - ensure the appropriate improvements are raised, tracked and implemented in a timely manner as a result of defects, audits, lessons learned and feedback
- Line manage the QA team members conducting regular 1-2-1 meetings and helping each team member meet their career objectives.
- Define continual improvement to reduce cycle time for QA processes.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience in a highly technical environment including both the software being developed and the
- development and automated testing techniques in use
- Track record of initiating change & implementing test strategies across an organisation
- Must understand Lean principles to deliver QA in an Agile environment
- Experience of leading testing process for multiple large-scale initiatives/programmes
- Good leadership skills and able to credibly challenge status-quo to deliver best practice solutions
- Experience of with cloud-based architectures, preferably Azure, including cloud persistence and distributed architectures (SOA/Microservices)
- Management of Teams of highly Technical staff.
- Understanding of Lean, Continuous Integration and the DevOps principles / movement.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Strong hands on automation coding skills
- Strong knowledge of BDD
- Financial Services industry experience
- Experience of working within SAFe methodology

- Confidence and enthusiasm in embracing new technologies and learning new skills
