My Client is looking for a Facilities Engineer to join them at their Bedfordshire location. As the company looks to grow its UK business over the next five years, it sees new opportunities to partner with the UK government to meet the country's global defence and security needs. This will be on an initial 6 month contract but the likelihood of an extension is quite high.

Working Hours
Week 1 Mon - Thur 8.30am - 5.30pm. Fri 8.30am - 4.00pm
Week 2 Mon - Thur 8.30am - 5.30pm. Fri Day off
Lunch break 30 mins each day

My client has become known as a leading UK defence engineering company, delivering on a broad range of contracts for the MoD, prime contractors across the wider UK market and international defence ministries.

Specific Job Description

The Facilities department at Ampthill are looking for an experienced Facilities Engineer to assist with the data gathering and implementation of a new asset management system.

The tasks will include reviewing asset data, obtaining the manufacturers manuals for each asset, creation of a technical library of manuals, interpreting the manual content to create job plans for each asset and assigning periodicities.

This is primarily a desk based role but will potentially have some field review of data required.

Required skills:

  • Understanding of Asset Management systems principals
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals to derive maintenance data
  • Reasonably P.C literate in standard Microsoft Office packages

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of operating a CMMS system i.e. Maximo, EAM etc.
  • An understanding of the technical and logistical requirements to carry out maintenance of industrial assets either from hands on experience or a supervisory/job planning role

The Facilities Engineer will be reviewing equipment maintenance manuals and collating data together in one accessible place. They will need to understand technical data to include what is important. Also they will need the ability to put together the data in to the system. Management of the CMMS system with all data. Must be It literate. Use of Excel/Word and the internal CMMS system.
