Firmware Engineer needed for a leading R&D company based in Malvern, Worcestershire, who are looking to employ an experienced Firmware Engineer to design and develop new electronics platforms to support the development of next-generation, high-technology scientific instrumentation with an in-depth knowledge of embedded software fundamentals, Compilers, debuggers and IDEs with a proficiency in C/C++ or OO programming languages (Python, Bash scripting)

Some of the main duties of the Firmware Engineer will include:
* You will be responsible for developing, testing, and supporting embedded Firmware solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to ensure project requirements are captured and achieved to high technical standards.
* You'll be establishing good relationships with key stakeholders and external partners across Product Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Marketing and Customer Support to maintain project documentation, specifications, technical files and validation documents.
In order to be the successful Firmware Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:
* Strong embedded software fundamentals within high-precision environments
* A proven track record using various compilers, debuggers, and IDEs such as GCC, JTAG, GDB and Eclipse
* Proficiency in C/C++ or Object-oriented programming languages (Python, Bash scripting)
* Knowledgeable of using interfaces/protocols - UART, USB and Bluetooth/BLE
* Experience with cryptography: symmetric and asymmetric, encryption/decryption, hashing, signatures, certificates, etc.
* Experience with system-level and architecture design of embedded systems
* Familiar with enterprise software systems - SAP, SharePoint, Office 365, etc.
