Health & Safety Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a leading developer on a major residential scheme in East London. They will join a leading developer with an impressive portfolio of exciting projects across the Capital.

The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for providing H&S advice to the construction team, overseeing the implementation of the company Health and Safety Management Systems and undertake ongoing monitoring to bring about achievement of continuous improvement of the projects Health and Safety performance.

Reporting into the Project Director the Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for the following;

Duties

• To provide competent Health and Safety advise and direction to the construction teams.
• To measure performance against current legislation, best practise and company policies and procedures.
• Monitor trade contractor performance against our polices, legislation and contractual requirements.
• Undertake ongoing monitoring to bring about achievement of continuous improvement of the projects Health and Safety performance.
• Undertake periodic Health and Safety site inspections of site activities and ensure that any actions arising from the inspection reports are closed out within set timescales.
• Review all incident reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Develop and review Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan, Fire & Emergency plan and monitor implementation and adherence to this plan.
• Assist in developing and delivering site inductions
• Produce Health and Safety reports as requested.
• Chair regular Health and Safety meetings with contractors.

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience to be considered.

Candidate

• NEBOSH Construction or NCRQ Diploma & Tech or Grad IOSH status.
• Experience of a Health and Safety role on large construction projects.
• Good understanding of IT software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and document control systems.
