Human Factors Consultant.
Home Based with travel to sites as required.

Negotiable Hourly rate + expenses paid.

6 month contract, may extend.

As a key member of the Health & Safety team, the Human Factors Specialist will support the buisiness by providing expert technical leadership on Human Factors processes and developing and delivering the understanding and application of human factors principles.

Duties:

Applying Human Factors methods, tools, and techniques to the business operations. This includes being able to apply human reliability methodologies to identify and assess human action by observing, understanding and helping to improve colleagues' performance and safety.

Ensuring the role leads and advises on input into the culture programme of work across the business. Assisting with the actions in the safety improvement plan by ensuring human factors is considered where applicable.

Fostering the consistent implementation and integration of human factors principles in relation to Operations, Major Projects, and Asset Management functions to make sure we build, operate, and maintain a safe and reliable network when designing and assessing roles and tasks.

Working with the business to deliver improvement programs and drive continuous improvement in relation to safety by proactively leading on safety projects and campaigns, develop project plans, managing stakeholders from across the business and at all levels to deliver against set timescales.

In this role you will be travelling to monitor and assess people at work, the scheduling of visits is down to you.

Experience of workplace assessments and task analysis would be required for this role.

Experience / Background:

Proven background in leading, developing and delivering Human Factors in a safety critical, high hazard or regulated industry.

Being able to advise of appropriate methodologies and Human Factors approaches to define and meet requirements of projects including developing solutions showing how needs will be met.

Leading the design and development of technical training and mentoring the development of others to embed and build the Human Factors capability.

Being able to produce technical reports for the wider business to review and action.

Being able to contribute to the development of the wider safety community.

Being capable of developing strong working relationships with diverse and remotely located, internal and external, stakeholders including field operatives, industry groups and HSE
