We have a fantastic opportunity for a Human Factors Consultant to join a major engineering organisation and work alongside industry experts in the already established Human Factors Team. The work is largely Nuclear focussed (Civil and Military) so any experience in that domain would be of real interest, we are however also keen to talk to Human Factors Consultants from other engineering backgrounds.

Human Factors Engineer.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Relevant experience of undertaking Human Factors assessments in support of hazard analysis and safety justification
  • Undertaking Human Factors design activities
  • High hazard industry experience, ideally working across multiple projects.
  • HFI planning and management, HRA/Error techniques, Anthropometrics, Equipment and facility design and assessment, Developing and preparing Human Factors documentation for projects in support of project deliverables and ALARP justifications, Co-ordinating production of HF submissions
  • Ideally, experience of working within the highly regulated UK Nuclear framework
  • Experienced in managing teams to deliver technically complex, human factors projects
  • Providing Human Factors input to design projects, ensuring that nuclear safety requirements are incorporated and met
  • Prepare Human Factors Integration Plans
  • Managing delivery for the work undertaken within their agreed remit against cost and programme to the satisfaction of the Key Stakeholders
  • Acting as the Point of Contact for the Key Stakeholders, ensuring adequate communication between other parties
  • Participate in HAZID studies
  • Review and approve design changes, concessions and other technical queries
  • Managing project risks by closing out Human Factors items on the Technical Issues and Risk Register.
  • Feeding back lessons learnt for use on future stages of the current project and other projects
