IT Asset & Vendor Lead

My client based in Suffolk are a leading global construction company who are recruiting for a IT Asset & Vendor Lead.

As a IT Asset & Vendor lead you will be responsible for a small team and be responsible to drive the Asset and Vendor management process. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software licenses and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.

As a IT Asset & Vendor lead you will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimise technology spend across the organisation. The IT Asset & Vendor Lead will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee Quality control throughout their life cycles.

IT Asset & Vendor Lead Deliverables:

Asset Management

  • Implement, manage and improve best-practice asset management processes and tools
  • Track the movement and ownership of assets throughout their lifecycle
  • Record and maintain appropriate asset information in a structured database
  • Ensure asset transactional information is recorded; including authorisations, receipts, changes of ownership and disposals
  • Conduct periodic audits to verify the accuracy of asset data; support external audits conducted by third parties

Vendor Management

  • Manage the relationships with third party service providers and strategic vendors
  • Establish clear communication and engagement between vendors and the rest of IT and the business
  • Manage supplier escalations and issues
  • Implement effective vendor governance
  • Ensure that Demand and Change Management are effectively managed within the supply chain
  • Conduct Regular Supplier Reviews
  • Ensure services are delivered in a timely cost-effective manner in line with agreed SLAs.

Procurement

  • Provide management and leadership for the procurement team
  • Implement, manage and improve best-practice asset procurement processes and tools
  • Manage the day to day transactional relationships with suppliers
  • Act as an escalation point for procurement-related queries

Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate financial information
  • Provide asset information to support financial processes and the recovery of costs
  • Contract & License Management
  • Maintain contract records including support and maintenance agreements
  • Manage contract renewals
  • Maintain licensing information
  • Monitor and report license compliance
  • Manage the RFI and RFP process
  • Review and negotiate supplier contracts

IT Asset & Vendor Lead Personal Attributes:

  • Educated to a suitable standard (ideally A level+)
  • Ability to effectively plan and organise day-to-day and weekly activity
  • Ability to organise own workload and work independently or as part of a team
