IT Service Desk - 1st/2nd Line required for a renown defence company who are looking for an experienced IT Service Desk - 1st/2nd Line with knowledge of the IT industry, ITIL and CompTIA A+ qualification.

The successful IT Service Desk - 1st/2nd Line will want to work for this client not just for the great opportunity but due to the other benefits that come with the role including:

  • 37 Hour Working Week - It is a 24*7*365 help desk so you would be expected to do shift work
  • 25 days Annual Leave
  • Pension - The company will pay 1.5 times your personal contribution up to a maximum of 7%

What the role involves

Some of the main duties of the IT Service Desk - 1st/2nd Line role include:

  • Providing general 1st/ 2nd Line technical support - the first point of contact for the IT requests and incidents
  • Be part of a technical service desk engineer team providing a high-quality customer focused service
  • Be responsible to stick to the ITIL problem management policy
  • Log, update and manage and calls via the IT logging system.
  • Responsible for Software License management
  • Work closely with the customer base streamline services in line with ITIL
  • Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email and drop-in visits

IT Service Desk - 1st/2nd Line key skills and experience

In order to be the successful IT Service Desk - 1st/2nd Line and be a part of this great opportunity you'll need to have the following:

  • Prior experiance working for a company that deals with large volumes
  • ITIL (minumum foundation V3 certificate)
  • Understanding of Active Directory
  • CompTIA A+ qualification
  • Experience in the role
  • Experience if being in a service level driven environment
  • Have strong over the phone and face-to-face skills in different situations to provide solutions and reach customer satisfaction
  • Troubleshooting, problem-solving and technical skills background using different diagnostic tools
  • Undertake security clearance checks
