Junior Bid Manager

Junior Bid Manager needed for a multinational Defence organisation based in Bristol who are looking to employ a Junior Bid Manager with an in-depth knowledge of forecasting internal spend, management of budgets and someone with some experience in producing financial reports.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Junior Bid Manager will include:

Bid Management

  • Managing the production of bids
  • Adherence to the company's Limited Bids and Proposals Process
  • Creation and management of bid schedules
  • Securing the required resources
  • Creation of proposals that are compliant with customer ITT's and contain all information requested
  • Management of Bid Teams to ensure that bids are completed to a high-quality standard and are submitted by the required deadlines
  • Review of proposals to ensure that all content produced is clear, concise and all customer questions are fully answered
  • Facilitating Lessons Learned sessions

Other

  • Supporting process improvement activity within the Bids and Proposals team
  • Management of internal budgets
  • Supporting graduate / apprentice development

What you need to be the successful Junior Bid Manager:

  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accurate records of decisions made

Judgements and Decisions - Advice:

  • Work to tight deadlines
  • Focus on priorities and to make key decisions to deliver best possible bid within given timescales

Financial Information:

  • Forecasting internal spend
  • Management of budgets
  • Production of financial reports

Contacts and Communications:

  • Communications skills supporting presentations, reviews and interaction with senior management, customers and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Special Features:

  • Qualified to APMP Foundation Level
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel within the UK as required
  • Government Security Clearance to SC level will be required of this post

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in defence, particularly in the Naval market
  • Experience of working in a Bids and Proposals environment
