Job Title: M&E Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £50,000 to £7,000 + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a major infrastructure project across Buckinghamshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile project where you'll be managing complex and interesting mechanical and electrical sub contract packages alongside a busy and professional commercial management team.

Some of the M&E Quantity Surveyors responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for the commercial management of multiple packages on the project, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Conduct accurate cost forecasting, monitoring project budgets, and providing detailed reports to the project management team.
• Collaborate with the project team, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure effective coordination and delivery of MEP packages.
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Manage variations and change orders, assessing their impact on costs and schedules, and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
• Prepare and review tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Provide contractual advice and support to the project team, resolving any disputes or issues that may arise.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to MEP quantity surveying, and apply this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

M&E Quantity Surveyors considering applying will need experience in the following areas:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor, ideally on a major infrastructure project.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations, with a solid understanding of related cost management principles.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Sound knowledge of construction contracts, relevant legislation, and industry standards.
• Membership of a professional body such as RICS or CIOB would be advantageous.
