Maintenance engineer - Facilities and Mechanics

My client, a leading player in the defense and aerospace industry, are currently looking for an experienced maintenance engineer/ technician to be appointed in a senior position based at their site in Burgess Hill.

The renowned company specialize in aviation and high-integrity solutions for commercial and military customers, generating approximately $5.26 billion a year, with over 30,000 highly motivated employees globally. Their flight simulation business based in Burgess Hill are currently looking for a senior maintenance engineer to be responsible for providing and leading the ongoing maintenance and planning at a site. As well as providing priorities and direction to a matrixed team of contractors and/or maintenance professionals.

Some of the main duties of the Senior maintenance engineer will include:
* Manages the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, building and grounds.
* Leads the ongoing maintenance, planning at a site.
* Provides direction to employees and/or contractors who construct, maintain and repair utilities systems, buildings and equipment. Oversee contractors and professionals in the general maintenance trades, including snow removal and grounds keeping.
* Manages given priorities to allocate limited resources to complete all necessary preventive and corrective maintenance at the site in a timely fashion.
* Manages the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, building and grounds.
* Has a matrixed team of maintenance staff, trades professionals, and technicians. Assigns projects and tasks to team; Identifies and develops leadership within the team. Selects, develops and manages the performance of the team members.
* May have partial responsibility for environmental, health and safety policies and procedures at the site. Ensures the area complies with OSHA, EPA and other safety and health requirements.
* May have delegated responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety for a site.

What you need to be the successful senior maintenance engineer:
In order to be the successful Systems Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:
* Experience with maintenance for equipment, building and grounds.
* Experience with mechanical maintenance.
* Experience within the defense industry (desirable).
