Manufacturing, Production & Quality Engineer needed for a major defence organisation based in Kent. This role will suit those with a keen interest in manufacturing within a challenging aerospace and defence environment.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Manufacturing, Production & Quality Engineer will include:

* Work within one of our Integrated Product Teams
* Ensure program quality requirements are met through all aspects of the product lifecycle.
* Take ownership for the resolution of quality issues through the structured application of problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
* Develop and improve processes and procedures ensuring efficient and effective manufacture of our products, including the creation of build instructions for the shop floor, utilising MES and ERP tools
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives within projects and across operations to support the sites strategic objectives such as the adoption of industry 4.0 digital manufacturing.
* Supporting customer and regulatory audits to ensure compliance to contractual flow downs and sector accreditations e.g. EN9100 & EN9145.
* Ensure program quality requirements are met through all aspects of the product lifecycle.
* Take ownership for the resolution of quality issues through the structured application of problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
* Develop and improve processes and procedures ensuring efficient and effective manufacture of our products, including the creation of build instructions for the shop floor, utilising MES and ERP tools.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives within projects and across operations to support the sites strategic objectives such as the adoption of industry 4.0 digital manufacturing.
* Support and maintain the manufacturing equipment used in the assembly of PCBs (P & P, Auto-Soldering, Cleaning, etc.) including hands-on maintenance.
* Training and supporting shop floor technicians in the PCB build processes


What you need to be the successful Manufacturing, Production & Quality Engineer:

In order to be the successful Manufacturing, Production & Quality Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

Essential
* 2 years' experience working a manufacturing environment
* HNC/HND or above in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent qualification or experience
* Must be eligible for Security Clearance

Desirable
* Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in a relevant technical discipline, Master's degree preferred
* Experience gained within an electronics environment would be highly advantageous
* Lean six sigma experience, green belt or black belt accreditation
* Experience in the application of various CI and RCA tools and techniques e.g. 5Y, 8D, PDCA, FMEA, fish bone, TPM
* Experience in working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
* Understanding of the principals of DFM
* Working knowledge of industry standards e.g. ISO9001, EN9100, EN9102, EN9103, EN9145, FAA regulations.
* Experience in completion of internal and external product and process audits.
