Mechanical Design Engineer needed for a Manufacturing organisation based in Rochester. A well rounded individual who takes pride in their work, proficient in working with 2D & 3D CAD ideally in Solidworks or DraftSight, ideally comes from a manufacturing background. The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering.

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer will include:
What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Produce 2D and 3D SolidWorks models, sketches, and technical calculations
- Liaise with customers and global suppliers
- Conduct site surveys throughout the UK and Ireland
- Project Manage from quote through to installation
- Compile key project information, create costing documentation and Quotation Proposals
- Manage data, such as drawings and parts, in a PDM system
- Define materials and specify components
- Work closely with internal teams, as required, to achieve project goals & timelines
- Creation of manufacturing drawings
- Management of the projects from quotation to installation.
Key Requirements for this Mechanical Design Engineer Role are:
- HNC / Degree in a relevant Mechanical /Design engineering discipline
- 2D CAD experience, ideally DraftSight
- 3D CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
- Proficiency to read and interpret complex technical engineering drawings
- Ability to self-manage workloads to achieve deadlines
- Self-motivated, pro-active & able to work unsupervised
- Good communicator
- Excellent problem solver
- High attention to detail
- Full clean driving licence and car essential due to rural location
