The Street Lighting NVQ Assessor role:

Within the context of the Business and Professional Development, the Street Lighting NVQ Assessor will be responsible for the work-based assessment of NVQ candidates, ensuring National Occupational Standards are met and achievement is timely. There will be a need to update caseload trackers & systems, and utilise Smart Assessor to both assess and keep track of learners.

Key Duties of the Street Lighting NVQ Assessor:

  • To carry out training and assessments for NVQ delivery in sales and possibly recruitment, ensuring national standards are maintained and assessment needs of candidates are being met.
  • To identify and address learning and development needs of learners to make sure they are completed timely.
  • Ensure work is ready to be shown for both interim and full IV.
  • Maintain centre files and up to date records relating to Assessors and Internal verification carried out.
  • Ensure the full embedding of all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirement (including Safe Learner Concept)are complied with and all candidates are given fair access to assessment.
  • Liaison with External Verifiers, arrangements and preparation of data for EV visits and follow-up of action plans within specified timescales.
  • Maintaining records for inspection purposes.
  • Visiting learners in the work place and assessing the NVQ qualifications to ensure the success full outcome for the NVQ in line with contractual requirements and targets.
  • Prepare, agree and review assessment plans with each candidate. Create learner portfolios to agreed targets are submitted on time.
  • Visit candidates at least once per month within the workplace to provide support, prepare action plans, undertake assessments and provide feedback on performance.
  • Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with College policy relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding body representatives
  • Manage and maintain learner folders in line with SFA audit requirements.
  • Assist with development of the provision to ensure the programme is up to date
  • Liaise with the client to ensure that the learners' needs are met on the course
  • Promote apprenticeships, train to gain and full cost recovery initiatives with employers including encouragement of progression routes. Maintain knowledge of funding streams and eligibility criteria.
  • Undertake Health and Safety checks for learners on programme.
  • Ensure the full embedding of all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirement (including Safe Learner Concept) are complied with and all candidates are given fair access to assessment.
  • To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students with whom you come into contact.

Required experience:

  • A1 Assessor Qualified to Level 2
  • Registered SL Assessor
  • Driving Licence
  • Happy to stay away from home

  • Driving Licence
