PLC Programmer - Software Engineer

Location - South of England  (Travel to clients based across the South of England)

Start - ASAP

Salary - £50k+ (Flexible for the right candidate)

The business is a highly experienced systems integration specialist who are currently seeking an automation and programming professional to join their expanding team.

You will gain valuable hands-on experience working with a wide range of private and public sector clients.

A summary of the main tasks that you will undertake:

  • Provide technical knowledge, leadership as well as hands-on proficiency in the resolution of software and controls systems issues.

  • Programming PLC systems using Mitsubishi, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC and HMI systems, through the project life cycle including the commissioning and documentation of automation projects.

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, you will have detailed knowledge of fault finding on PLCs.

  • You will have the drive to keep up to date with technological advances and new products as well as developing your personal skills and capabilities through on-going training, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Supporting the wider team by getting involved in projects and assigned tasks to meet client's needs.

Skills required

  • A relevant degree or technical apprenticeship that provides a solid foundation in the principals of Electrical or Control Systems Engineering

  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in the field.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Programming of SCADA, HMI's and PLCs

  • Experience and training of Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Omron and Siemens SCADA, HMI and PLC's highly desirable.

  • Driving licence is essential

  • Technical and commercial experience

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.

  • The ability to undertake travel to clients based across Southern England.
