Role: Pre-Construction Manager
Location: Uxbridge
Salary: £65,000 + travel + package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Pre-Construction Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering a large infrastructure project in West London. The Pre-Construction Manager will be joining an experienced and professional team focused on delivering the project to the highest quality standards whilst maintaining a focus on safety and sustainability.
Some of the Pre-Construction Managers key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the pre-construction activities, including planning, design development, estimating, and procurement
- Work closely with the project team to develop detailed construction strategies and schedules
- Manage the tender process, including the preparation of bid packages, bid evaluation, and negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
Pre-Construction Manager requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in pre-construction management, preferably on large infrastructure projects,
- Previous experience working with cladding finishes and fit out works, ideally on a project such as Crossrail or Tideway
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience with design development, estimating, and procurement processes
- Knowledge of relevant construction codes, standards, and regulations
- Proven ability to manage project risks and opportunities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
