An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Designer to join an established, well regarded construction consultancy in Brighton. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across the education, leisure, healthcare, industrial, commercial and residential sectors with projects and clients across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and into Central & Greater London. A key part of your role as the Principal Designer/CDM consultant will be to take a lead role in providing both new and existing clients with CDM services and eventually, you can expect to be leading a small team in this growing part of the business.

As the Principal Designer, some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Working with the building surveyors, quantity surveyors and project managers across multiple projects
• Undertake your duties in accordance with CDM 2015
• Identifying and managing the design related risks throughout the pre-construction phase
• Ensure the team and the business are complying with the latest CDM regulations

In return, the successful Principal Designer can expect a package that includes:

• Starting salary of £40,000 to £48,000

Candidates considering this opportunity will need to have experience including:

• 2+ years working as a Principal Designer or CDM Consultant
• A Construction or Health & Safety related degree or masters
• Working towards a professional accreditation
• A good understanding of the design phase
