An experienced Software Engineer is required to play a key role in an ever emerging and evolving cyber team. Due to the success of a number of programmes, they are growing the software development team, with a focus on Java within an Agile environment.
The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Software Engineer?
- Design and delivery of software projects
- Play a key role in supporting business development;
- Lead teams, line manage and mentor colleagues
- Play a large part in requirements capture, software development; continuous integration, deployment and requirements validation.
- Work with a broad variety of frameworks and/or tool sets.
What are we looking for in our next Software Engineer?
- Degree Educated in a Computer Science/Engineering discipline
- Have experience in the design, development, test and integration of quality software
- Have experience in Java and the use of object-oriented design
- Experienced in technical leadership
- Agile/Scrum methodologies using tools such as Confluence and Jira
- Strong understanding of DevOps approaches and associated tools such as Ansible, Docker and Jenkins
- Messaging and Routing Technologies such as NiFi and Kafka
- Knowledge of Cloud-based architectures
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server/CentOS)
- Knowledge and experience in programming languages, such as: Java, C, C++ and Python
- Experience working with open source products
