Procurement Administrator needed for a leading Defence organisation based in Gloucester who are looking to employ an experienced Procurement Administrator who will be embedded and tasked within a project team, managing the asset lifecycle for that team, from procurement through to disposal activities.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Procurement Administrator will include:

  • Procure items requested by the project and the client, following the agreed procedure
  • Ensure that assets are appropriately labelled, stored and managed in line with LM and customer requirements to maintain compliance for asset audits throughout asset lifecyle
  • Verify materials to be procured with Project Manager and/or Technical Lead
  • Work with Supply Chain to obtain quotes, place orders, manage goods in, materials and invoicing
  • Ensure procurement tracker up to date
  • Provide itemisation of materials purchased to the customer each month
  • Support the Goods-In, Goods-out process
  • Itemise and Track subsets of assets as necessary
  • Identify risks, issues and solutions and report to the Project Manager
  • Identify and implement process improvements for asset and procurement management
  • Ensure any changes to procurement procedures or to items being procured are approved through appropriate governance channels.


What you need to be the successful Procurement Administrator:

In order to be the successful Procurement Administrator and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Good attention to detail
  • First rate customer facing and communication (oral and written) skills; the ability to listen effectively, react appropriately to feedback and support an effective working environment
  • Be organised and methodical, able to work under pressure with a common sense "can do" attitude.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritise demands and workload accordingly
  • Strong team player who works effectively and collaboratively with management and engineering staff.
  • Current SC and ability to obtain and maintain a DV clearance

Desired

  • Previous experience of UK Defence Industry security environment an advantage
  • Knowledge of goods in/out, supply chain, materials.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Good stakeholder engagement
  • Experience of cyber environment advantageous.
  • SharePoint experience
  • Jira experience
