Procurement Officer needed for a leading organisation based in Bristol who are looking to employ an experienced Procurement Officer with an aim to provide procurement support to the day to day operation of current programmes and bids, helping to ensure that supply chain activities are managed effectively in the interests of the business and to ensure that projects are delivered successfully.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Procurement Officer will include:

  • Provide support to the project teams, understanding project procurement requirements while helping with the sourcing and procurement of both goods and services to meet expectations
  • Maintain the project supplier commitment records
  • Raise purchase requisitions and administer both purchase orders and amendments to ensure timely achievement of project objectives
  • Prepare requests for quotations to suppliers, meeting the requirements and demands of the business and projects
  • Raise goods received notes, dispatching documentation and goods
  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring deliverables have been met and an appropriate budget holder sign-off is obtained within a timely manner
  • Gather due diligence and assessment information of suppliers to be added to the clients approved suppliers list and enable the sub-contracts manager to approve them
  • Keep in regular contact with both suppliers and vendors to resolve any order or delivery issues
  • Maintain key supplier performance metrics and contribute to both the internal and corporate reporting requirements
  • Maintain and ensure all approved supplier approval documentation is up to date at all times
  • Assist in the administration of procurement processes and procedures within the business

What you need to be the successful Procurement Officer:

In order to be the successful Procurement Officer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

  • Proactive style and flexible attitude to scope of role

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Contribute as an effective team member
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of business both internally and externally
  • High standard of technical skills including MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering environment would be advantageous
