Senior Project / Programme Manager
Bristol or Harwell.
3 - 4 days per week in the office.
In this exciting new role working on major European Space prjects you will lead the development and delivery of the most important, high value programme in our clients current portfolio, this role and project are critical to the continued success and growth of the company.
You'll be required to provide strategic direction and leadership to deliver a satellite for a high profile Space Mission.
Working closely with transnational teams, you'll ensure closure of design engineering activities, production, and IVVQ to ensure a smooth transition through the bid stage, into the production phase and onto the launch campaign.
This Programme is of a significant value (c£150m) and is the largest and most ambitious our client has embarked upon. Experience of managing projects of over £75m would be an excellent background for you to come from.
Role Summary:
· Develop the relationships and manage the interface with the end customer as well as internal stakeholders in other European countries.
· Providing strong and clear leadership and strategic vision to the Programme Team
· Reviewing and committing to programme baselines, consolidating the schedule, and driving commitment to delivery dates.
· Managing the costs, forecasts, risks, and opportunities.
· Providing consistent and accurate programme reporting to both internal and external partners.
· Identifying support needs and obtaining support from the wider business.
Ideal Background:
· Proven track record of successfully leading the delivery of complex space industry programmes (payload/ platform/ satellite/ science missions).
· Prior knowledge of European Space Agency projects and experience of working with them.
We're looking for a proactive and results oriented individual, you will be confident and resilient and used to handling project problems, setbacks, and challenges.
As the programme and team grows you will be asked to deliver coaching to other programme managers and build sustainable teams to help deliver on similar programmes in the future.
