My Client is looking for an Programme Manager to join them at their Bedfordshire location. As the company looks to grow its UK business over the next five years, it sees new opportunities to partner with the UK government to meet the country's global defence and security needs.

Working Hours
Week 1 Mon - Thur 8.30am - 5.30pm. Fri 8.30am - 4.00pm
Week 2 Mon - Thur 8.30am - 5.30pm. Fri Day off
Lunch break 30 mins each day

My client has become known as a leading UK defence engineering company, delivering on a broad range of contracts for the MoD, prime contractors across the wider UK market and international defence ministries.

Specific Job Description

The Programme Manager will be accountable to the Business Area Manager or Programme Director for the achievement of the financial, performance and timeliness goals for the programme. Ensuring that the program team is staffed with the skill sets required to meet programme objectives. Ensuring that the subcontract management function is represented and performed on programmes.

The Programme Manager will also be leading the team in identifying and achieving Mission Success Events iaw the Plan Managing execution of and transition between all programme phases, including bid decision, proposal development, negotiations, award, programme startup, programme execution, sustainment, and contract closure. Establishing and maintaining a programme management plan and a subcontract management plan. Establishing and maintaining program plans and schedules. Ensure systems engineering programme support. Ensure timely and thorough requirements development, communication, traceability, baselining, configuration control, validation and verification involving all program stakeholders including developers, customers, users, and suppliers.

The Programme Manager will need to achieve programme performance, cost, schedule, quality, revenue, and profit objectives. Establishing and maintaining approved technical, cost, schedule, and resource baselines. Implementing a Programme Performance Management process, including the application of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles. Ensuring that EVM requirements are flowed down to subcontractors if applicable. Implement a risk and opportunity management plan and process (for programmes and projects exceeding specified thresholds). Implementing data management and configuration management processes.
