Brief

My client have a vacancy for a Project Controller / Control Account Manager. Individuals from scheduling/planning or cost controlling backgrounds with the characteristics and capabilities to become a Control Account Manager will be provided with the necessary support and development opportunities to fulfil their potential. Accountable to Programme / Project Manager(s) monitoring and controlling of scope, resourcing and cost on assigned projects, including liaison with customer(s) over time.

Scope, resource and cost planning, monitoring, cost reporting and Earned Value Analysis will be performed using SAP and other tools, which may include P6 or MS Project (although noting that this is not a planning role).
The Project Controller / Control Account Manager shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Budgeting and managing the resource requirements on the projects and programmes, including managing and developing EACs; and resource planning for Opportunities and NBAE (as required) across the whole of Weapon Systems - taking into account resources required to support a large number of activities.
• Generating data/information for presentations and reports to the business and the customer(s).
• Consolidating data for the Programme Managers' review and approval.
• Generating Variance Analysis Reports (as required) on a monthly basis to cover variance at completion information with corrective actions. Work with the Programme Manager(s) and other stakeholders to implement the corrective actions to re-align the work to the baseline and budgets.
• Ensuring that all Programmes' budgets are fully planned to ensure that customer and business requirements are met.
• Managing small projects, accounts and NBAE with oversight from Programme Managers as required.
• Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.
• Assist in the preparation for EPPs.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Project Controller will include:

• Proven experience as a Project Cotroller or similar role
• Budgeting and managing the resource requirements on the projects and programmes
• Working knowledge of and experience in SAP cost planning and reporting.
• Engineering, Defence or related projects experience
• The ability to work with, analyse and understand key performance data and metrics.
• Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
• Works under very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
• The ability to work with a technical and skill-diverse team.
• SC clearance will be required to perform this role

What experience you need to be the successful Project Controller:

• An understanding of business finance including Orders, Sales, EBIT and Cash and the importance of managing and controlling programmes in order to achieve successful financial outcomes.
• Experience in the development, maintenance and control of complex event-driven project plans and their impact on budgets and financial performance.
