Brief
Project Engineer needed for a leading defence & security organisation based in the Portsmouth area who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Project Engineer that takes pride in their work.
In order to be eligible for this role you will need to undergo Security Clearance Background Checks that require you to be a UK resident and UK passport holder.
What the role of the Project Engineer entails:
Some of the main duties of the Project Engineer will include:
- Engineering Change activities, including supporting the facilitation of engineering change through the embodiment phase of the programme to ensure that the products' design integrity is maintained, and change is progressed in an expedient manner:
- Supporting the management of the change process to include coordinating the process, progressing impact assessments with the engineering team, liaising with customer and wider SME's
- Providing support with the identification and management of continuous improvement initiatives in both business processes and project activities
- Supporting with the identification of cost and efficiency improvements into programme by gathering Learnings From Experience information (LfE) from stakeholders
- Assisting with developing and reporting Engineering metrics and reporting progress into the Engineering Coordination Lead for the wider PIP Engineering team
- Supporting the delivery of engineering governance activities to ensure compliance with the company's engineering governance requirements, including Design Reviews and audits
- Supporting resolution of cross-discipline technical issues to ensure timely delivery of cost effective and compliant solutions
- Undertaking tasks for the Engineering Coordination Lead as required
What experience you need to be the successful Project Engineer:
Essential:
- Good understanding of engineering integration, change management and acceptance
- Awareness of defence organisations Lifecyle management/ CADMID cycle
Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent qualification or experience
- Awareness of systems engineering
