Brief
Project Engineer needed for a highly reputable and respected Aerospace organisation based in Gatwick who are looking to employ a Project Engineer with a heavy aviation background on a 6-12-month contract. The ideal candidate will be able to take on multiple channels of information, maintain customer relationships and understand contractual obligations.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Project Engineer will include:
- Engage with the customer to ensure that they meet their contractual obligations.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to understand the defined labour, materials and other associated cost drivers.
- Ensure the client receives the completed customer SOW with accurate technical content in the required timescales.
- Provide the link between the client the customer as required to resolve any issues including Engineering, Spares and Tooling.
- Meet with MRO leadership throughout aircraft inputs to review performance against plan.
- Produce check reports and performance metrics on a defined schedule. Including a post check report highlighting areas of success and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement recovery plans where required with the MRO in order to meet key milestones.
- Ensure prior to any aircraft input that all tooling and equipment is provided, fully serviceable, and on-site personnel are fully trained to use the tooling and equipment.
- Ensure any additional work the is fully justified prior to Additional Service Request (ASR) approval.
- Undertake any other reasonable activity to ensure success of the maintenance inputs being performed by the client
- Identify and champion continuous improvement initiatives to ensure integration between other stakeholders both internal and external.
What experience you need to be a successful Project Engineer:
- The ideal candidate will have worked in an airline engineering and/or aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organization as an experienced EASA B1 or B2 licensed and type rated Certifying Engineer or Professional Aerospace/Engineering degree (or related aviation discipline) from a recognized university.
- Must have working knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations and standards.
- Experience in managing performance-based aircraft maintenance contracts is highly desirable.
- Experience with Microsoft software applications is highly desired.
- The Service Delivery and Liaison Engineer will be based at the LGW Hangar BCASEL facility but will spend a proportion of time at other UK, Europe and overseas locations. They must be willing and able to spend considerable time away from base.
- Occasional travel may be required at short notice.
- This requisition is for an international, locally hired position.
