The UK's largest defense and security company are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Project Manager that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge in Earned Value Management.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Project Manager will include:

• Promote the practical application and use of Earned Value Management tools and techniques for successful program delivery
• Guide Project Managers in the correct use of Earned Value Management, identifying and supporting training needs where required.
• Support delivery of any requested analysis relating to schedule adherence and cost performance measurements
• Provide cross-functional support for the monthly project update cycle, supporting the Project Management community in understanding and proactively using key program performance indicators
• Ensure the project schedules and the project control systems in place for each project are fit for purpose by providing peer review support at key points in the project lifecycle
• Establish the fundamentals for effective Project Control (budget, schedule, and resource & change management) for all project types (Customer, internal funded etc.)
• Provide maturity analysis and analytics to the business

What experience you need to be the successful Project Manager:

• 3yrs+ in PMO or PM environment, or a project delivery support role
• Demonstrable experience of the reporting and analysis of Earned Value Management
• Experience of a bespoke Earned Value Management toolset or an appropriate alternative
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Project
• Familiarity with, and competence using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, knowledge and demonstrable practical experience of the SAP system would be of significant benefit
• Technically competent with various software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc
• An appropriate background within a formal PMO or Project Management environment and knowledge of a structured approach to the management of projects e.g. APM, Prince 2, or equivalent
• Analytical skills, able to manipulate data and identify trends and able to coach the PM community in project control outputs, analysis and interpretation
• Be able to convert process and display data into an easily presentable format
