Quality Assurance Technician

Based East Grinstead, West Sussex

An opportunity exists for a full-time "Quality Assurance Technician" to join a busy engineering production environment supplying products to a variety of markets including automotive, medical, agricultural, and food processing industries.

Basic Salary £21K - £25K depending on age and proven ability

Benefits include 20 days holiday per anum, additional 1 day per year up to max of 25 days. After 10 years' service an additional 5 days is allocated.

Some of the main duties of the "Quality Assurance Technician" will include:

  • Conducting internal audits and producing associated audits reports and issuing of non-conformities where required
  • Conducting supplier audits and producing associated audits reports and issuing of non-conformities where required
  • Liaising with customers regarding RMAs, carry out investigations and issue reports ensuring corrective actions have been carried through the business effectively
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding RMAs and chasing corrective actions associated with root cause of fault
  • Assist all departments with managing their calibrated equipment
  • Conduct and issue PPAP documentation
  • Support quality department with customer requests such as certification queries and CMRT reporting and other regulatory demands
  • Support all departments with processing suggestions obtained from internal suggestion scheme
  • Carry out process improvement reviews and projects to reduce inefficiencies
  • Work alongside purchasing, engineering and suppliers to develop our supplier base and quality of products produced within the supplier base
  • Implement, update and review quality documentation to ensure it is in line to GMP, internal processes and ISO 9001:2015
  • Carry out inspections on products produced both internally and supplied, issuing reports where necessary
  • Assist all departments in the swift and effective closures of non-conformities

What you need to be the successful "Quality Assurance Technician":

In order to be the successful "Quality Assurance Technician" you should be equipped with the following skills and proven ability:

  • 3-year GMP experience
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience in pneumatics/engineering background
  • Internal auditor 9001:2015 preferred
  • Good attention to details
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Report preparation
  • Process and procedure driven
  • Ability to ensure and understand that quality of products & service provided is vital
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to cope with pressure and change

As a "Quality Assurance Technician" you should have excellent customer service skills and a background within engineering environment together with a good understanding of pneumatics / production engineering. Occasional visits to clients and suppliers may be required so full UK driving licence is essential. Access to pool car is available for such use.
