Area Support Technician
An Area Support Technician is needed to join a busy team providing support to the Service Delivery Manager in the form of first line customer liaison, service and repair of ticketing equipment, as well as quality control of support activities.
Paying a basic salary of £22.5K PA to start, with overtime available. This opportunity is a 4 on 4 off position spanning the hours of 05.30-23.30 hours, so accommodating an early shift from 05.30-17:30hrs for 4 days, then 4 days off, then 11.30-23.30hrs for 4 days, and 4 days off, etc.
A company car is provided, together with uniform, tools, 'phone, laptop or tablet. Benefits include holiday, pension. There is also a £25 bonus paid for when the late shift is worked to cover unsocial hours, which uplifts the basic salary to achieve £24,720 PA + overtime.
The successful Area Support Technician will be required to cover an area from Bicester down to Southampton, including Berkshire, Wilts, Somerset, Devon, Dorset, and SW London. You will have a strong electrical engineering background and will hold a relevant electrical qualification, i.e., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Alternatively, you could be a field service engineer with proven ability as an electro-mechanical engineer operating in the vending or transport industry, or similar.
The responsibilities of the Area Support Technician will be:
- To carry out on-site preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to ticketing equipment to defined standards.
- To be able to deal with basic PC related problems and set up PC for system operation
- To communicate with all levels of staff both verbally and written. Escalating of all major issues to the management team as appropriate
- To complete all documents on time, to agreed company standards
- To assist with the implementation of new equipment or the upgrade of existing equipment as required
The Area Support Technician will be self-motivated, and disciplined, and be able to work using their own initiative, as well as having excellent customer service skills to deal with customers and company staff at all levels.
This is a permanent 4 on 4 off rotating shift (early + late) Repair and Maintenance career opportunity. A full clean driving licence is essential, together with proven ability of working as a Field Engineer conforming to on-site H&S rules, as required.
