RF Systems Engineer

RF Systems Engineer needed for a multinational Aerospace and Defence organisation based in Wokingham who are looking to employ an experienced RF Systems Engineer with an in-depth knowledge of digital RF design and development, system integration and test, an understanding of RF HW methodology, architectures, development tools, test equipment and the Aerospace and Defence sectors.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the RF Systems Engineer will include:

  • Elicitation of Subsystems Requirements
  • Preparation of Requirement Specifications, Verification Matrices and other Technical documents for RF Subsystems
  • Specifying requirements for the Antenna, RF Front End
  • Designing receivers using the conceptual availability of multi-constellation and multi-frequency GNSS signals,
  • Interface to the company's GNSS subject matter experts for guidance.
  • Support to Informal/Formal Verification and Validation Test Activities in a System Integration Lab Environment
  • Provide technical response to Requests for Information/Proposal from potential Customers
  • Provide briefings to Customers on the company's products and specifically tailored solutions
  • Develop systems in accordance with industry certification standards and the company's Systems Engineering Process

What you need to be the successful RF Systems Engineer:

In order to be the successful RF Systems Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of five years industry experience in digital RF design and development, system integration and test
  • Have an understanding of RF HW methodology, architectures, development tools, test equipment. Experience between 500MHz and 5GHz.
  • Ability to specify the functional and interface requirements for all RF interfaces to the individual building blocks of a GNSS receiver
  • Able to undertake international travel
  • Computer literate and familiar with using normal business and engineering software applications packages
  • Able to achieve UK Security Clearance

Desirable experience and knowledge of a RF Systems Engineer are as followed:

  • Ability to select printed circuit board level hardware components
  • Experience of schematic capture for RF circuitry
  • Experience of working with system integrators/OEMs
  • Minimum of five years industry experience in digital RF design and development, system integration and test
  • Have an understanding of RF HW methodology, architectures, development tools, test equipment. Experience between 500MHz and 5GHz.
  • Ability to specify the functional and interface requirements for all RF interfaces to the individual building blocks of a GNSS receiver
  • Familiar with the traditional systems engineering lifecycle
